The platform MAP incorporates societies and scientifique bodies dedicated to the areas of mathematics, astronomy and physics. It supports the organisations’ activities and coordinates and promotes research and education in the field of mathematics, astronomy and physics.

The National Committee of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (NC IUHPST) as part of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) represents Switzerland’s interest within the framework of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IUHPST).

In addition to representational duties within IUHPST and its subsidiary organizations, this national committee partakes in international conventions. Moreover, it has also collaborated in the process of refurbishing the history of Mathematics and the Natural Sciences as part of the “Historical Dictionary of Switzerland”.
