Women in Physics Career Symposium

Satellite Event of the annual meeting of the Swiss Physical Society

Universität Fribourg

The goal of this symposium is to boost women in the early career stage starting from undergraduate up to postdoctoral studies in building a professional and mentoring network in physics.

The career symposium Women-in-Physics is a satellite event of the SPS annual meeting 2022

This event takes place after the main conference of the Swiss Physical Society (SPS). It will feature a series of career talks, which will provide information on navigating a career in physics from the personal perspective of invited speakers covering several career levels. This will be complemented by a podium discussion, in which participants can ask questions and share experiences, advice, and ideas. The event will feature several networking opportunities such as extended coffee breaks and a dinner during which participants can get to know each other with the aim of forming a growing mentoring network.

Female participants from all career levels are invited to register for this event. Suggestions for desired mentors can be made during registration. In addition, interested colleagues (female and male) willing to act as mentors are also asked to register.

Registration for the symposium

You may only register for this symposium if you have already registered as conference participant. After this first step go to the symposium registration module and fill in the required data. While there is no additional fee, the organisers need a few more information from certain groups of participants. The link to the registration and the link for further information are on the right.
