New Call for Quantum Innovation Projects: Considerations by the Swiss Quantum Commission
As part of the Swiss Quantum Initiative, a new Call for Quantum Innovation Projects is planned for 2025. The Swiss Quantum Commission has outlined its strategic considerations for this call.

The strategic considerations were adopted by the SCNAT Executive Board on 4 April 2025. The "BRIDGE-Quantum Call" will be jointly implemented by Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency, and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). It will be managed within the framework of the existing BRIDGE programme.
Emphasis on Practical Application of Quantum Technologies
In its strategic considerations, the SQC recommends supporting qualified innovators who carry out application-oriented and results-driven projects in the fields of quantum communication, quantum sensing and metrology, quantum computing, and quantum simulation.
The Commission proposes the following objectives for the call:
- Support quantum-specific innovations with societal impact, focusing on application-oriented results.
- Engage a broad target group within the Swiss quantum community to activate the widest possible innovation potential.
- Enable significant investments in hardware, including the option to allocate up to 40% of funding for equipment and related services.
- Strengthen collaborations between universities, technology centers, and industry partners based in Switzerland.
