UNESCO is launching a Global Survey to assess the current landscape of quantum research, education, strategy and policy, and workforce development across Member States under the umbrella of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ

UNESCO is launching this Global Survey in alignment with the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development that UNESCO is leading for the implementation. The survey aims to collect valuable insights from scientists, researchers, innovators, educators, industry leaders and policymakers working in quantum-related fields to understand better the current landscape of quantum science and technology, including challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends, as well as to explore approaches for ensuring its contribution to SDGs. The findings will strengthen international collaboration, shape policy recommendations, and support capacity-building efforts in this rapidly evolving field.

The Global Survey is now open for participation by 30 April 2025.
