Elisa Marty – quantum computer scientist
Elisa Marty takes us through her daily work as a quantum computer scientist at IBM. She develops quantum algorithms and works on improving the performance of quantum computers.

At the IBM research laboratory near Zurich, Elisa Marty presents a model of the Quantum System Two, one of IBM’s latest quantum computers. She explains how quantum computers combine advanced hardware, cooling systems, and control electronics to operate at extremely low temperatures of around 15 millikelvin. Elisa’s research focuses on developing quantum algorithms that could solve certain problems more efficiently than classical computers. She designs quantum circuits and tests new algorithms on a quantum computer in the United States.
